CLARITY - EIGHT

Today we ask the archetype of

STRENGTH

to provide us clarity.

Widen your perspective.

Take a moment to look at this collection of images, what do you see?

Pictured are samples of this card from several decks. My own watercolor interpretation on the left and then cards from my collection ( left to right top to bottom); The Illuminated Tarot by Catherine Keegan, Modern Witch Tarot by Lisa Sterle, Klimt Tarot by Lo Scarabeo, Zillich Tarot by Christine Zillich, 5ct Tarot by Madam Clara, White Sage Tarot by Theresa Hutch, Ridder White Golden Deck

Here is what I think…The Strength card seems simple and straightforward, but if you look deeper, you may notice that strength isn’t always what we think it is. The battles we fight in this life are all chosen battles because bravery is always a choice. To me this card says a whole lot about freedom and choice and it feels like strength is as much about knowing when to give up as it is about pushing forth and holding on. Sometimes it isn’t about how we fight, it is about what we fight…and why.

  • Bravery (doing scary things because they matter to us)

  • Patience

  • Resilience

  • The Serenity Prayer

The strength card asks…

What have you been wrestling with this year?

BE WITH the question.

“It is worth remembering that the time of greatest gain in terms of wisdom and inner strength is often that of greatest difficulty.”
— Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama

GET CLEAR WITH YOURSELF.

Write about the battles you have fought this year.

And just to be clear…why did you fight them?

TAROT BONUS: If you have a tarot deck and want to explore more about the way strength has shown up in certain areas of your life, look at the minor arcana eights.
